Subprojects

We set 3 research groups responsible for different subjects with different viewpoints and methodologies, but activities are interrelated and outcomes are shared.

Subproject 1 deals with:
identification of rumen microorganisms involved in propionate enhancement and methane mitigation,
designing of methane production model based on rumen fermentation profiles,

Subproject 2 deals with:
Development of “smart pill” to be placed in the rumen to continuously monitor VFA
so that methane production pattern can be estimated in a real-time manner.

Subproject 3 deals with:
Exploration and application of novel feed and/or additive materials to decrease rumen methane

Ultimately, we attempt to propose optimal feeding system through data mining based on all above efforts toward 80% reduction of methane from cattle by 2050.
